Privacy policy

This policy covers the Android app Playroom Layout Studio (version 1.0.0) and the website playroomlayoutstudio.site. In short: the app keeps everything on your device and sends nothing.

1. Contact

For privacy questions and requests, and for support, write to [email protected]. This is the only contact address for the app.

2. What the app processes

Only what you enter yourself: rooms (name, type, tags, a brief with who uses the room, how many children at once, flooring and notes, the minimum aisle width), room outlines and ceiling heights, the positions of doors, windows, radiators and sockets, layouts with modules and zones (names, sizes, positions, colours, notes), your own modules and templates, settings, and the change history of each room.

3. Stored only on your device

All data is kept in the app's private storage on your device. There is no account, no server and no cloud sync. The app has no internet permission, so it cannot send data anywhere. We do not receive any of your data and cannot see or restore it.

4. Export, sharing and backups

Data leaves your device only when you choose to: you can export a plan as a PDF, a PNG image or text, and a backup of all data as a JSON file, and send it through the Android share sheet to an app of your choice or save it in a folder you pick. What happens to those files afterwards is governed by the app or storage location you chose. When you restore a backup, the app reads the file you select locally.

5. Permissions

The app asks for no permissions: no location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files, and no notifications. It opens and saves files only through the Android pickers, where you choose the file or folder.

6. No adverts, analytics or tracking

The app contains no adverts, no analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools, no advertising ID and no in-app purchases.

7. Keeping and deleting data

Your data stays until you delete it: single items in the app, everything under More › Your data › Delete all data, or by uninstalling the app. Exported files stay wherever you saved or sent them.

8. This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party services; fonts and images are served from this site. The server may keep technically necessary access logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for a short time to run the site securely.

9. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because we receive no data from the app, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. For anything else, write to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

10. Children

The app is made for adults who plan playrooms and play spaces. It is not directed at children.

11. Changes

If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this policy and publish the new version on this page.
